Marsy's Law Approved by Ohio Voters

COLUMBUS - The following statements can be attributed to the Marsy's Law for Ohio campaign:

"What an exciting victory tonight for crime victims from all across the Buckeye State. Marsy and I were born in Ohio, and to be able to bring enforceable constitutional rights for crime victims to a place so close to my heart is truly special. Tonight’s vote was the result of nearly a year of hard work by the Marsy’s Law team, and a clear demonstration of the continuing strength of our movement. Ohioans from all walks of life came out to support crime victims, and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts."

Attorney General Mike DeWine urges voters to support Marsy’s Law in New Issue 1 Ad

COLUMBUS - The Yes on State Issue 1 campaign took to the airwaves this week with a television advertisement featuring Ohio’s top law enforcement official--Attorney General Mike DeWine.

In the ad, DeWine makes a direct plea to voters urging them to support State Issue 1. “Marsy’s Law will ensure crime victims are treated with dignity and respect and will guarantee them enforceable rights,” DeWine says in the ad. “I urge voters to vote yes on Issue 1, Marsy’s Law.”

TV Star Kelsey Grammer Featured in Latest Yes on State Issue 1 Ad

COLUMBUS - The Yes on State Issue 1 campaign took to the airwaves this week with its newest advertising push spotlighting the support of "Frasier" star Kelsey Grammer .

The most current spot features Grammer urging support for State Issue 1. The actor who rose to stardom on “Cheers” believes that the constitutional amendment will ensure equal rights for all crime victims in Ohio.

Franklin and Summit County Prosecutors Featured in Latest Yes on State Issue 1 Ad

COLUMBUS - The Yes on State Issue 1 campaign took to the airwaves this week with its third major television advertisement asking voters to support the Ohio crime victims bill of rights known as Marsy’s Law.

The most current spot called "Balance" features Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien and Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh urging support for the constitutional amendment. The two prosecutors believe State Issue 1 will ensure all crime victims are treated with fairness, dignity and respect in Ohio.

Ohio FOP Endorses State Issue 1

COLUMBUS - The Ohio Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed State Issue 1, the equal rights for crime victims constitutional amendment known as Marsy’s Law.

Ohio’s largest law-enforcement union joins the Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association, 13 county prosecutors, 22 individual county sheriffs and Attorney General Mike DeWine in supporting State Issue 1.

Victim of Violent Crime Shares Her Heartbreaking Story in New Issue 1 Ad

COLUMBUS - The Yes on State Issue 1 campaign took to the airwaves this week with its second major television advertisement asking Ohio voters to support the Ohio crime victim bill of rights known as Marsy’s Law.

The spot emphasizes how crime victims sometimes have their privacy rights violated by spotlighting the case of Ronda Blankenship, an Akron crime victim whose family was murdered on New Year’s Eve 2013. During the subsequent trials of the killers, Blankenship was forced to turn over her personal diary, social media passwords and medical records despite a lack of relevance to the defense’s case.
